CALI to launch new look for Lessons, including mobile versions

The Center for Computer Assisted Legal Instruction ("CALI") has announced a new look for its hundreds of popular CALI Lessons covering dozens of legal education subject areas. The redesigned lesson interface will be easier to view on any web browser and will now be viewable on all mobile browsers. The new lesson viewer adds two of the most requested features; autosaving students' scores as they work through lessons and allowing copying and pasting of text from the lessons. Check out the new look when the new viewer launches in the fall.

BC Law - Text a reference question

Law Librarian Recounts Kent State Massacre

The June 2011 issue of the American Association of Law Libraries' Spectrum Magazine includes an article with the understated title, Alan Canfora: A Witness to History. Canfora, now a reference librarian at Akron Law Library, was one of the 13 Kent State University students shot on May 4, 1970, when the Ohio National Guard opened fire on students protesting the mobilization of US troops in southeast Asia. For those interested in reading further about the Kent State Massacre, the Kent State University Libraries maintains a website on its archives concerning the events surrounding May 4, 1970, The site includes an informative FAQs page, a bibliography of books, articles and websites, and an index of the archives.

Tech Tips from the ABA Tech Show

Even if you didn’t attend the ABA Tech Show, you can pick up all sorts of tips from this year’s PowerPoint presentations on 60 Tips in 60 Minutes (pdf) and 60 Sites in 60 Minutes (pdf). These were recently posted on the ABA Tech Show site along with other PowerPoint presentations from this year. There is also a 60 Sites in 60 Minutes Hall of Fame with links presented over the last ten years.
