Vacation Reading

With exams almost over it’s time to think about a good vacation read.  Here are some recent reads that come highly recommended by law library staff members.

Defending Jacob, by William Landay (Delacorte Press: 2012)
A full-blooded legal thriller about a murder trial and the way it shatters a family:
Mr. Landay is a member BCLS class of 1990.  We have a copy in the Popular Reading Collection at PS 3612 .A5477 D44 2012, unless someone beats you to it.

The Casual Vacancy, by J.K. Rowling, (Little Brown: 2012).
A big novel about a small town:
This is her first novel for adults and her first publication since the Harry Potter series.

Bring Up the Bodies, by Hilary Mantel (Henry Holt and Co.: 2012).
A historical novel charting the rise and fall of Thomas Cromwell
This is the second book in a planned trilogy.  If you haven’t read the award-winning Wolf Hall, you may want to read that one first.

What do you recommend or have planned  for your vacation reading?  Let us know.
